| So, friends, the update monster has attacked... its name is Tosha... but I'm only going to give the monster a smaller piece of me... I'm not interested in actually updating this too much; those who would care or need to know true details about me are around enough to know them anyway... despite being fun to update this thing, I'm not so sure... but this is my attempt for now.
School's not so bad this semester... theory is a useless waste of time, sorta like my secondary general music education class. but then again, it's music ed, so will I actually end up using it some day anyway? This opportunity I have to preach this Sunday at church (!) is so amazing - and preparing for it has made me all the more interested in Bible college as grad work - and all the less interested in my actual major. [just call me jeff yoder ] Is that bad? If you ask my dad, it sure is... but who gets to make these final decisions? Well, I do, but with the Lord's guidance, hopefully...
Hmm, okay, so this updating thing *is* actually kinda fun... lol...
Okay, I'm sleepy... 'night all!

| Okay, so this one will NOT be a day-by-day... way too many days have gone by for that...
Let's just sum up the last 2 and a half weeks by saying that I've been busy. *VERY* busy... lots of stuff going on outside of class, as well as projects coming due that I finally started working on... EdPysch.. yeeeah....
So I got to conduct the BSSO again this past week... that was fun... man what a cool ensemble to get to stand in front of!
Saw Chronicles of Narnia with friends from church on Friday! I know nothing, really, of the books (okay, that's not quite true... let's just say I haven't read any of them), but the movie was great!
Slept in Saturday... late... very late... 12:11 late... and had church choir practice at 1:00... hehe yeah so I finally got up when Melissa called to wake me up. Thanks, Mel!
Anyway, yeah so we had choir and then trio practice, then a trip to Meijer, after which I worked in my room for a while. And wrapped, like, all my Christmas presents! hehe... and I got to talk with Emma for quite a while, which was nice!
Then, later, Melissa came over and hung out for a nice long time... we got to just sit and talk, which was long overdue. Oh, and sleep? It's overrated when you've got a great friend to talk to.
Then today... church, choir sang one song. Then I watched the Colts beat the Jaguars!!!!! Oh yeah, Go Horse!.... then choir and trio rehearsal again, followed by the annual Christian Campus House Christmas Dinner! Much much fun... then caroling in the streets behind the CH...
Now bed.
One of these days I'll write about what I actually think and feel and some stuff... lol... but yeah there's the update, particularily from the last few days... My stress level has gone down significantly with the near-finishing (just a few finishing touches left!) of my last EdPysch project Wednesday night! so now I'm just kinda relaxing... eh, I have finals... and trombone jury. and piano final. but they'll work out. Now, I'm just going to enjoy Finals Week and Christmas!! Regardless of anything else going on.... hehe. Here's a couple quotes for the week (or 3? lol...)... G'Night!
"You could use your old computer to shop for a new computer online. But that seems kind of cruel, doesn't it? Like asking your dying spouse if he or she has any cute friends." --Scott Ostler
"I like to play
blackjack. I'm not addicted to gambling, I'm addicted to
sitting in a semi-circle." -- Mitch Hedberg

| Alrighty, so it's actually not even been an entire week since I last
posted... but golly it sure seems like it's been 2 weeks... lol.
Anyway, it's been a great 6 days, so here's my little almost-a-week in
review!
Friday:
Open Mic/Coffeehouse at the Campus House... much fun! Congrats,
nice job, and way to go! to all the people who performed there!
Tad's something special on that toaster, to be sure.
Also, that same evening, Natalie and I taught 2-ball (a game with two
balls and no cues, but played on a pool table... very intense, very
fun) to everyone, and we played it until late. And until we had a
couple injuries, myself included. Haha oh well, it happens.
Saturday:
Got up, headed to the guys' house to help Mike (Rustic) load his truck
for the Hotdog Ministry at the football game. We got stuff
loaded, grabbed some coffee (yes, I drank black coffee... and enjoyed
it! It was some Millstone Kuna Hawaiian blend or something), and
headed out. We had several people - Rustic, Adria, Jason, Alicia,
Molly, her boyfriend, and myself. Then Katie and Cory joined us a
little later. We gave out a good portion of the 240+ hotdogs we
took. Yeah, so that was done by around 1:00, after which I then
got some stuff done in my room before Natalie, Emma, Melissa, and I
headed out to Wal-Mart, Goodwill, and Muncie Music. We got
groceries at Wal-Mart (and stuff for the girls for 80's Late Night -
oh, and Melissa mis-pronounced an already mis-spelled color name on
lipstick... hehe), then went to Goodwill to get some more costume stuff
(like my wind suit... haha), and then finally to Muncie Music, where
Melissa got an oboe reed. And, I found a keyboard sustain pedal
on clearance for $3! Well, it turns out that it works backward
for my keyboard.. but, I have now re-wired it, so it should work just
swell! Finally, that evening,
Natalie and I went to Tosha's and cooked our stuff for the Thanksgiving
dinner at the Campus House... Nat made her mom's corn casserole, and I
made my mom's Pepperidge Farm Chicken Dressing.... yum yum!
Lastly, we all went to 80's Late Night... kinda lame as far as
activities go, but the band Son of Glam was great and it was still tons
of fun. Late to bed.
Sunday:
Church. Thanksgiving pitch-in dinner. Lots of food, lots of
yum. Homework. Kinda watched most of the Colts game (yes! 10-0!)
while working. Had dinner with Natalie, Emma, and Melissa, after
which Melissa came over and we had a homework party. Sweet, it
was actually productive, even!
Monday:
Mark came!!! Oh, wait, he didn't come to see me, just kidding...
hehe. No, seriously though, Mark (Melissa's boyfriend) came up
and saw her sing in recital hour (great job Melissa!!!) and then to
hang out with her. Well, I, and all of us, ended up getting to
see him and hang out with him more than I thought we would - it was
great! (Melissa, I hope we didn't take away too much of your time
with him...) He then spent the night in my room.
Tuesday:
Class. But who cares, I didn't pay attention. Duh...
anyway, Mark met us all for breakfast, then he fixed my bike!
I'll take it to him over Christmas break, too, and have him fix another
couple things and get it in even better shape (and probably actually
pay him, too). Then, at 11:00, Mark and Melissa, Tosha and Jeff,
and Natalie and I went out to lunch at Puerto Vallerta... yum
yum! Great times... on to class, rest of day, I chilled in my
room for a while (and played guitar!) before finally heading home
around 7:00...
Wednesday:
Ran a bunch of errands with my dad... got a haircut. Watched
Madagascar (lol so funny) and Sahara (it's really good!) with
Natalie... and here I am. Can you tell it's after 2:00
already? Yeah, I'm getting sleepy and trying to wrap this up as
quickly as I can... so, that's all I know for now. It was great
to see Mark Monday and Tuesday. I was happy to see him; but
more so, I am so happy that Mark and Melissa finally got to see each
other again and spend time together!
That's all for now, I'm off to bed.... I shall leave you with the following:
"They do a lot of animal testing in the
cosmetics industry, maybe they should brag about it in their ads.
'Aquanet hair spray, if it can blind a spider monkey, it can make your hair look luscious.'" -Vernon Chapman

| Wow, how to describe the last 10 days.... well, a common theme running
through all of them is tiredness. and lack of sleep. I've
been basically averaging about between 4 and 5 hours each night,
occasionally a little more (like 5 and a half).... However, to try to
recap, what I can remember, anyway...
Last Monday I played at recital hour. I played a trombone solo
entitled Cavatine, written by Camille Saint-Saens. It went quite
well, actually, and I was very pleased to be congratulated by, and
receive positive comments from, many people, even a few days
later. Otherwise, last week was when I really started
working. Since then, I have truly been spending all my time
outside of classes or rehearsals doing work of some sort. It's
been tough because I just have not had much time to be with Natalie, or
really to do much of anything "fun" or "relaxing," but for the most
part I'm okay with that... I just am incapable of truly relaxing, if I
have stuff to do. I relax by getting stuff done. Kinda
stinks sometimes, but that's the way I work. I want to apologize
to anyone, particularily Natalie, who I may have neglected due to my
busyness... unfortunately, it's just not done yet... Thanksgiving Break
will help a lot, but it really won't completely end until about the
time of Finals Week. Oh, I can't wait til Finals Week... hehe
Anyway, this past weekend, then, Natalie and I went home to attend the
Bands of America Grand Nationals competition in Indy. The Spirit
of Central played, and they looked and sounded great! What a cool
show, and major props to all of them in the band... they really played
well; I'm so proud of them! And my sister
They ended up placing 5th which, in my opinion, is about right.
Perhaps a slot too low, but that's very questionable. Carmel won,
and for them I'm happy, but, to my eye and ear, Ronald Reagan High
School (from Texas) was decidely the best band there. They were
truly amazing.
On Monday I met with Alex Robinson, from church... Basically, I have
just been over-committed. I can't very well get out of any of my
school work right now, and I really can't get any less
sleep... so, unfortunately, I have to change my involvement at church a
little. I play bass in the worship band on Wednesday nights, so
we rehearse Monday evenings. I run sound on Sunday mornings, so
we rehearse Tuesday nights. I am on the Worship Planning
committee, which right now is in the process of writing a "worship
renewal" grant, so we have been meeting nearly every other week or
so... I have been so blessed to be so involved, and to get to serve the
Lord in all these ways, but I'm just having to sacrifice way too much
to make time for all this. So I met with Alex at the MT Cup (mmm,
caramel frapuccino ), and we talked
about my situation, and of course a million other things.
Basically, for the rest of the semester, I'm just not going to play
bass on Wednesdays, so that'll free up my Wednesday nights a little,
but primarily it give me Monday nights back. That's enough for
now. Next semester, everything about my schedule will be
different, so everything will be re-vamped. Also, we are hoping
to "hire" another sound-man or two (yes, or woman ),
so that we can share the Sunday-morning responsibilties. Anybody
interested? Lemme know... Anyway, Alex and I just chatted
for awhile. I've been blessed, really the whole Christian Campus
House, has been blessed to have Alex around. CCH guys - tell him
this; he still feels like an outsider, inexperienced, doing what little
he can. I think he's great. Okay, I'm done.
Then, today, I got to conduct the BSSO! Wow, that was really
fun. I suppose I took the wedding march a little too fast (I
think it's now called the wedding run), but I think I did pretty
well. And it was just fun... wow I love the orchestral sound, and
just being on the podium in front of the orchestra was amazing. I
say again (see 2 or 3 posts ago) - I love orchestra!
Okay, that's all for now... another busy, yet fun weekend ahead of
me... open mic/coffee house at the CH tomorrow night (I don't think I'm
performing, just attending to see my friends do stuff!), BSU football
game on Saturday (and I don't care about the game, I just want to go
for the hotdog ministry! ), Thanksgiving
dinner at church on Sunday, Alumni Band concert on Sunday, and tons of
homework in between. Oh, and practicing. For my piano
test.
Please bear with me, my busyness and resulting potential for weirdness
is not over... just hope I start getting some more sleep soon.
Later, y'all!
p.s. - maybe I'll update more often next time to avoid writing a novel... my apologies.

| Okay, well sorry folks... this one's gonna be brief and contain very
few details... I've been working on way too little sleep, and so I
gotta get to bed soon. But here's my weekend...
Friday:
Headed out immediately after classes to go to McCormick's Creek State
Park in Spencer, IN, with the 5 other guys of the Campus House's
band... well, at least the band as it looked this weekend, as we
traveled to play for the Trader's Point Christian Church's Men's
Retreat. It was fun... especially the fun at Wendy's... hehe ask
me sometime, the story is much better in person.
Saturday:
Returned from McC's St. Park by about 4 in the afternoon... took care
of some stuff, hung out with Natalie for a little while, then watched
The Boondock Saints with Melissa! hehe what a great movie.
then we talked for a little while about some stuff... that was nice, we
hadn't gotten to do that in a while.
Sunday:
Family Weekend Breakfast at the Campus House! And big worship service complete with choir and 2 condenser mics!
But the food was great, the service went very well, and God is
great. What more can I say. He really does provide, like He
has today, in helping me make it through the day, despite being so
tired and sleepy. And stressing out so much.
So yeah please just pray that this week, nay, the next 3 weeks, I don't
completely stress out or die from lack of sleep... it's gonna be a
rough ride to Thanksgiving, so I'll be... pardon the pun... thankful when it gets here. That's all, time for bed. G'night!
